Gary and I took Braden to Highline Lake this morning to go to a fishing clinic for kids. It was really fun. They even gave all the kids free fishing poles. Braden cracked me up because it is super hot outside but he insisted on wearing a sweat shirt and sweat pants. He loves hot clothes...even in the summer. I don't get it but it makes for a funny look.
There were quite a few kids that came to the clinic and it was actually pretty informative. They had two little presentations that talked about the fish in this lake, the ecosystem and finally, how to fish. They provided a pole and a little tackle box with some lures in it. The only weird part was when the ranger said, "there is a saying in Colorado. You sip the whiskey but the water is the life here." It made no sense to me so I googled it to see if I could find this "famous" saying. I found it, I think. Mark Twain famously said, "Whiskey is for drinking, but water is for fighting over." That makes more sense except not to a bunch of 4-8 year olds!
Well, that's about it for now! Braden has Quinn and Kaison over to play so they are entertaining themselves for now and without the girls here, I had some time to post. Yea!
